A single specimen growing on a lawn near sweet gum and other hardwoods (no oaks). I should have put a coin next to it for size comparison. It’s 4" tall and 3.5" in diameter.

As expected, the spores are round and spiny

I left this mushroom undisturbed. I found an older specimen of apparently the same species (same “skin” texture, but paler color) about 100 yards away. The gleba in that one was still white.
