Observation 14229: Hypholoma (Fr.) P. Kumm.

When: 2008-11-14

Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Thought this had to be Hypholoma (Naematoloma), but the gills are way-too far spaced to be that in my experience. But don’t have a clue otherwise what it could be. Yellow-brown stipe, with gladular dots, especially near the base; gills broad and wid-spaced, chocolate-brown; has an overall look as if it is decaying quickly.
