Observation 142520: Boletus subvelutipes Peck

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Red bun shaped caps with red pores and a yellowish-white stipe with red smears. All parts bruising blue quickly. Found near Hemlock (Tsuga).

observations on MO when I ran across this one. When zoomed in, your photo nicely shows a very interesting feature… stipe apex finely but distinctly reticulate.
