Notes: On mossy ground in mixed woods including hemlock and balsam fir. Cap up to 28 mm., dark brown when young, velvety, umbo, white flesh. Gills cream and sub-decurrent. Stem brown like cap, 50 mm. × 8 mm, white base. White milk. Pleasant odor.
