Psittacina would never have occurred to me… the flat buff cap and orange gills. But reviewing MO observations of this species I see a multitude of cap/gill colorations. The weather in the collection area had been very dry for several days. Eastern NA Waxcap book mentions that the cap becomes opaque in age. Thanks for the suggestion.
