Observation 142864: Amanita sinicoflava Tulloss
When: 2013-08-15

Notes: On mossy ground in mixed woods. Tan cap with olive tint, paler lined margin. No partial veil. Whitish gills. Whitish stem, indistinct base, hollow. Whitish volval sac with prominent graying top half. Measurements of FB after opening up overnight: 4 mm. thick cap flesh above stipe, cap 22 mm. wide, stem 85 mm. long from bottom of cap flesh to bottom of stipe, 6 mm. stem width midheight.

Since I described this species, I have almost never seen it again. Your photograph is very, very nice.

Would you be willing to share your dried specimen? I would be much more likely to obtain DNA from it than from my old collections.
