Observation 143099: Coprinopsis atramentaria (Bull.) Redhead, Vilgalys & Moncalvo

In clusters in woody path in woods; cap 2-3.5 cm x 3-4.5 cm high, light buff with blackening edge, egg shaped with umbo, lacking shiny bits and more gray and larger than C. micaceous; gills free, close, blackening from bottom; stipe 6-8 cm x .6 cm, white, ring or volva absent; spore print black.
