The mushroom has begun to dry in situ (at least at the cap edges)…

and the volval material is lost. There are signs of some aging or senility in the gills also. The ordinary cues are gone, but the bulky stem makes me think of A. polypyramis. This species is reported from New Jersey (USA) to Costa Rica. At least it’s a possibility.
