at the time of writing, unverified. See the name page for updates on this. The red capped edulis, it’s dubious new name notwithstanding, is well known to the American rocky mountains. It is as abundant in Telluride as anywhere, perhaps moreso. I have personally harvested my bodyweight of this sp. just above Mountain Village, leaving dump truck loads more behind which would have simply rotted before they could be attended to.
