Well, color ID is a subjective activity.

Sometimes, especially when recording spore print color, I use the Online Auction Color Chart to encode the color (not actually “online”; I purchased the hardcopy online).

In an attempt to be more precise about this obs, the color of the upper margin of the volval sac appears to match the tawny brownish color of the cap.

I also concur with Rod’s observation. You people are better at naming colors; I would have said that the volva was yellowish-orange-without using Methuen.
