Observation 143747: Scleroderma areolatum Ehrenb.


In situ. At base of Quercus palustris.
Depth of sporocarp unusual. Almost 4 inches from top to bottom.
Gleba easily separates from peridium and is fibrous. Peridium extremely thin at top, very thick at bottom, also very thin on sides.
