Notes: Cap 45 mm., brown, darker umbo, fibrous, splitting irregular margin. Gills brown, Stem brown, scurfy, 90 mm. × 6 mm., white base. No bulb. No bruising.

On ground next to dead wood

in mixed woods that include balsam fir (predominantly), eastern hemlock, red maple, paper birch. No distinctive odor or taste. I’m trying to get a spore print now but we haven’t had rain for 3 weeks so it may not happen.
