Observation 144186: Lobaria pulmonaria (L.) Hoffm.
When: 2013-08-29
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I surprised myself today. Almost every tree on the north side of Peterson’s Butte had this fungus on it. Prolific!

Recognized by sight: L. pulmonaria can have anything from powdery soredia to coarse isidia along the margins, so it can fool you; L. oregana should be obviously phyllidiate/lobulate along all the margins
