Recognized by sight: Limbate volva on radicating stipe base, partial veil fragile and shredding, cap margin appendiculate. A specimen would be great to have. Among the taxa that are possible are some of those of Amanita subsect. Limbatulae Bas: Amanita roanokensis, A. praelongispora, A. parva, A. limbatula, A. inodora, A. alliacea (garlic odor). Spores of these species are often very narrow. Many of them were originally described from Floriad. All were originally described from the SE USA. Species of this subsection are known only from the southeastern USA and from Australia. All have at least a brief description on the Amanita Studies web site. I am very interested in obtaining dried specimens of species of this group. R.
