Notes: I am new to the sport of hunting mushrooms and I am really struggling to ID a lot of my finds. I have photographed about 35-40 different varieties here in the South Fork of long Island. This specimen is approximately 6-7 inches on the tallest stalks, and was found growing at the base of a tree I cant ID on a mossy hill 2 days after heavy rain. I tried to gather spore prints from several caps and for some reason, no spores were forthcoming (as I mentioned I am very much a novice. It is not clear in the photos but these had veils on the younger ones and rings on the older. The caps looked almost as if they had a fine yellow dust on them. Any help with a name would be great.
