Notes: On ground in mixed woods. Cap 5 cm., pink brown, inrolled margin, smooth to scaly, white flesh. Spines color of cap, decurrent. Stem 5 cm. × 2.5 cm., tough, gray flesh. Flesh of cap and stem bruising gray brown when cut. Mild taste. Mild odor when fresh, almonds when dried.
