Observation 144744: Physarum Pers.

When: 2013-07-28

Collection location: Grasslands National Park, Saskatchewan, Canada [Click for map]

49.2011° -106.7695° 961m

Who: Chris Hay (hayfield)

Specimen available

East Block of GNP in Story Lowell forest

Growing on an old aspen leaf (Populus tremuloides). It is certainly an aspen leaf by appearance and also since it seemed to be the only species of tree in the forest. Stemonitis was growing on a fallen aspen log nearby, along with other mushrooms on the log.

ID suggestions more than welcome! (would be nice to get to genus)
