Observation 144820: Psathyrella (Fr.) Quél.

When: 2013-09-07

Collection location: Portland Adventist Medical Center, Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Conical cap, flared in maturity; fleshy thickish stipe (for a Conocybe), in well-watered lawn. This had to have come up and matured very quickly. I have been all over that lawn in the last 3 weeks, and this was NOT present 2 days ago. On Thursday and Friday we had nearly 2 inches of rain. This was found Saturday.

Thought this was in better focus than it is. Conical cap, flared in age.
Slightly thickened stipe about 4 inches long. Supports wide cap.
Free or slightly attached gills, brownish.
