but failed to note the lack of the extra “sub” on the species for the eastern ones. Syllable overload! Thanks Noah.

Neoalbatrellus subcaeruleoporus is a new western North American species (that was going by the name N. caeruleoporus).

The eastern species has been Neoalbatrellus caeruleoporus for six years, but I guess nobody wanted to hog all the fun of being first to use a new name.
