Observation 145124: Ganoderma tsugae Murrill

No herbarium specimen

Notes: specimen was about 10" in diameter at the widest point with a large upright nodule that made it resemble a turkey with wings spread.

Ganoderma tsugae too. It is very common in the Appalachians.

Ganoderma tsugae. This type grows on hemlock, and occasionally on other conifers.

Growing on a downed tree trunk near a creek. There were a lot of hemlock, as well as pine and a mix of hardwoods in the area.
