Observation 145192: Pholiota squarrosa (Vahl) P. Kumm.

Notes: Assiniboine Forest, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Found growing as a tight cluster in a crack of an old stump (aspen? probably) that was partially burnt. This specimen was found quite dry already and somewhat immature (hadn’t rained for a while).

Note identifying features: scales, partial veil, greenish gills, growth on hardwood
