On ground under white cedar in mixed woods. Cap up to 8 cm., dark red brown, thin brown flesh, umbo. Gills broad rust brown. Stem up to 8 cm. × 7 mm., pale to purple brown, stuffed. Brown spore deposit. Mild odor and taste.
