of T. sejunctum are more yellow than ours. He has more photos of FB’s from N.A. that are like yours. It bothers me that neither he nor Phillips make any reference to T. viridilutescens. Maybe it has been folded in to T. sejunctum?

Cap color was the main reason-

T. sejunctum’s cap is a lot more yellow than these from what I’ve been reading. Tricholoma viridilutescens seems to just look closer to what I’ve got comparatively between the two. I can’t find a description for T.viridilutescens either (anyone?). A very tentative ‘could be’ is all.

So I’m curious why you chose

T. viridilutescens over T. sejunctum? I am unable to find any references to the former but about the later M. Kuo says: " Similar Tricholoma species either lack the dark fibers on the cap, or have completely yellow (or completely white) gills from youth to maturity." From your photos it seems that your specimens have both the dark fibers on the cap and the yellowing of the gills at the cap margin which would seem to point to T. sejunctum (T. subsejunctum for non European specimens according to M. Kuo). See Kuo, M. (2008, December). Tricholoma sejunctum. Retrieved from the MushroomExpert.Com Web site: http://www.mushroomexpert.com/tricholoma_sejunctum.html
