This material has been recieved and accessioned to Rod’s herbarium. We have also scheduled it for DNA sequencing.

It’s always cool to have the cross-sections of the buttons.

When the adult has a bulb at the base of the stem, the button has the stem and cap both developing in the upper half (or less at first) part of the button.

I have an active request for material of the Phalloideae for a study of automated and reliable diagnosis of amatoxins in fungi. If you can get more robust material of this sort, it would be just what is needed by the researchers. Same goes for any reader posting a species that looks like the present one from anywhere in the U.S., Mexico, or Canada.
