Recognized by sight: I think it’s fuscoroseus, fechtneri has more of a cherry red zone on the stipe

I’m taking the spore baring structure back to the woods then. I’ll also remember not to pick them.

B. bicolor does not grow in Europe,

it’s restricted to North America.
What we have here is either Boletus fechtneri or Boletus fuscoroseus (syn. Boletus pseudoregius, Boletus speciosus ss.auct.europ.) both of which are choice edibles but should be protected because of their rarity.
