Observation 145530: Tricholoma magnivelare (Peck) Redhead

On ground under red pine (Pinus resinosa), 2 needle, in sandy substrate. Cap 7 cm., convex, sticky when wet,whitish with red brown fibers over disc (rain overnight). Gills whitish, close, staining red brown. Stem 8 cm. × 2.5 cm., whitish, red brown fibers below ring, white above.

9/17/13: Dried some of this over the last few days. The odor has intensified and can definitely be likened to dirty socks. Still no spicy hot odor for me.
