What was it growing on? Looks like the stipe is a dark blood red, hollow, with unopened cap. Cap appears to have erect scales. Need to know if there was any odor present, what wood (if any) it was growing off of, and any nearby trees. This could be one of the truffle-like mushrooms with a stipe and cap that never opens.
