Notes:
Found near Leech lake at the base of White pass ski area. From literature I’ve read it is rare for this species this far North, although the montane habitat, coloration, velvety dry(almost suede like cap) and all other characteristics are correct.

Fruiting beneath Ponderosa pine, Douglas fir and Mountain Hemlock trees.

Elevation: 4,500ft.

Temp: upper 60’s- moderate rain over past week.
