On mossy ground under balsam fir and hemlock. Cap 7 cm., convex, waxy/greasy, yellow brown. Pores cream, stuffed, not bruising. Tubes yellow, up to 8 mm. Stem 7 cm. × 2.5 cm., color of cap, white reticulation on top portion. Flesh of cap and stem white, firm, not bruising when cut except slight purpling under cap surface. Mild odor. Pleasant taste. KOH orange on cap surface, negative on flesh.
