In all honesty, Walter, I don’t think I can, but I will looking into this the next time I find it.
Alan Bessette told us at the bolete workshop in Maine last week that this practical joke (separating B. parasiticus from its host) had been played many times on unsuspecting expert mycologist at NEMF/NAMA, who would drive themselves insane trying to ID it. I am sure you were once a victim of the joke a long time ago, too, — just admit it. :)
