Growing in moss beneath Douglas fir, Mountain hemlock. Never encountered a brand new shoot of A.virgata- looks very much like a clear, white asparagus tip with reddish leaflets. All specimens from this canopy grwoing around it have already lost their color and distinctive “candy cane” stripes.
Temp: low 60’s.
