It looks like an Inocybe, from the fiber-capped appearance. Growing in Zone 45 among mixed tree species. Older aspens are present in the area, along with sugar maple, paper birch, and the usual pines. (Populus tremuloides, Acer sp., Betula papyrifera, Pinus resinosa, Pinus stribus.)
