Hello, Mike. [EDIT]

I’m part of a project which is searching for evidence that the eastern, yellowish-capped muscaria-like mushrooms that are now called by the name Terri and Donna proposed is in any way separable genetically from the red-capped muscaria-like mushrooms west of the Great Plains. So far, all evidence is to the contrary. We have very few samples from some regions (including the state of Minnesota). If you would like to contribute a dried specimen to this project, we’d be very glad to utilize the material in molecular based studies of this group of fungi.

If you are interested in contributing, you can contact me using the mushroomobserver email feature on my MO user page.

Very best,

Rod Tulloss
