Observation 14659: Lactarius Pers.
When: 2008-11-27
No herbarium specimen

While this fungus has the stature and overall-appearance of Lactarius, there was no visible latex when I broke the gills. The flesh looks like a Lactarius too, but there is still the slim chance this is an old Russula. In Arora, this keys out to Lactarius lignyotus, which I don’t believe this is. But, having never seen possitively-identified L. lignyotus before, I am calling this identification merely promising.
