Observation 14698: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

Notes: This one was growing in soil under Douglas fir, tanoak canopy. Cap is 11 cm. the gills and stipe are pale lavender and when cut the flesh of the stipe also shows lavender. It looks like the remnants of a vail around the rim of the cap are rust colored and the spores appear to be rust colored.
