Resembles A. citrina above-ground, but the dug-up stipe base lacks the bulb typical of that species, instead resembling the stipe bases in the muscarioid clade. Definitely an Amanita though, and found in Zone 05 not far as the crow flies from a known A. citrina fruiting site. Trees nearby: Acer saccharum, Betula papyrifera, Pinus resinosa, P. strobus.
