Observation 1471: Gymnopus (Pers.) Roussel
When: 2006-12-09
No herbarium specimen

Notes: I hate gymnopus, someone needs to explain to me, what makes a gymnopus a gymnopus. All the gymnopus I see seem to be completely different looking species. It seems to be the genus of — ok it has white spores, and I don’t know what else it is, so put it in gymnopus for now.

Anyway, I gathered quite a few of these in the field, there were 100’s in this one place. But then I forgot to get around to getting a goof photo when I got back, so this is all I have. I still need a good photo on these…

The best discussion I’ve found is at:

However, I’m not sure it will completely answer your question.
