No herbarium specimen

Notes: I originally called this a Lactarius because of the discoloration of the predated cap surface, which stains tawny. There is no latex at all, and the flesh looks more like Russula to me. So, this large Russula found in sandy conditions near the coast should be R. brevipes. But I have never seen the cap R. brevipes stain tawny.
