When: 2008-11-30

Collection location: Briones Regional Park, Contra Costa Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Richard Sullivan (enchplant)

No specimen available

This was the size of a soccer ball growing on an old log (maybe an alder, madrone or Acer macrophyllum) that had fallen across a creek. It was dark and shady and there were three other fruiting bodies on the same log but smaller.
