Rare giant mushroom resembles map of China
16:44, July 19, 2010
Huang Jigui, a 47-year-old collector of ganoderma, a bitter mushroom used in Chinese medicine, picked up a large gamoderma that has pattern like a map of China on its surface in 1998 when he visited a mountain area in Shiyan City.
Not only is the shape of the pattern on it quite similar to a map of China, the positions of those islands around China, such as Hainan Island, Taiwan, Shandong Pennisula and Liaodong Pennisula, are also in the right places. Huang was so happy and picked it back home, according to Wuhan Evening Paper.
The ganoderma is 67 centimeters long, 30 centimeters wide and 10 centimeters thick.
Huang said it was quite rare to find such a big ganoderma, and even more spectacular to find one with a map of China on it.
