Only the cap of this fungus was found. Someone had already kicked it away from its stipe.


In situ. Cap slightly pink-brown to white.
After being picked up, tubes visible as well as white fungus starting to mummify it.
White cap flesh, brown gills and Hypomyces chrysospermum (white) beginning the digestion process.

Recognized by sight: The Boletus part is easy, identification of the parasite not so easy. Probably Hypomyces chysospermum, the bolete eater.
