Recognized by sight: what I meant to type, instead of the above.
bright yellow cap covered w/tawny, fibrillose scales; gills dull yellow, turning rusty brown.

I did in fact bring one home with me but it rotted during my very long car ride plus plane ride, despite being in a cool pack. Fungal puddles are not so useful, eh?
