Observation 148268: Agaricus xanthodermus Genev.
When: 2013-10-11

Notes: Was found growing in very moist leaf litter layer underneath Sequoiadendron giganteum at the UC Botanical Garden. Used Arora to narrow down to a few species and then used Mykoweb to confirm. ID’ed to Agaricus xanthodermus based on following features: growing under conifer, pale pileus and gills when young, rapidly turns yellow when bruised, rubbed or scraped, dark brown spores when sporulating
