Cap: at first yellowish, then yellow-brown and/or with reddish fibrils and scale-like cracks; in age brown to reddish-brown, partially areolate. Gills: white, thick; developing rusty-brown spots in age. Stipe: 4 inches long (10cm), with persistent annulus which turns brown in age; with white scales above annulus, and progressively darker and browner scales descending, nearly solid brown last 1.5 inches (3.5cm); 2 inches (5cm) thick, decreasing to a point at the base.

Only in one area does this vary from Arora’s description: odor not “obnoxious”. Faintly of cinnamon.


Yellow to yellow-brown or yellow-olive; areolate.
Cap with reddish fibrils, areas areolate, with vinaceous streaks.
Veil white, leaving patches on cap edge; turning dark brown on edge of annulus.
Annulus becoming dark brown on edges, with white scales on stipe above annulua, rusty-brown scales below. Lower 5cm of stipe nearly solid scales. Stipe tapers to a point.
Developing rusty-brown spots on gills in age.
