No herbarium specimen

Notes: Small(unfortunately maggot riddled) cluster of “man on horseback,” fruiting beneath Douglas fir, salal and Oregon grape.

Elevation: 1,400ft.

Temp: upper 40’s-light precipitation.

Never thought of L.shimeji at all- just thought it was a less than abundant fruiting of L. decastes.

After looking up a few sources I agree with your astute observation. Thanks again!

Just wish they weren’t completely maggot riddled and friable :-((
