Pseudoplasmodium or ‘slug’ of D. discoideum. Note the slime trail created by the passage of the slug through the agar.
Aggregation of D. discoideum. The amoebae move up a gradient of cAMP released at the aggregation centre to form a pseudoplasmodium.
The sorocarp of D. discoideum with disc base and a cellulose stem bearing prespore cells.
