Unusual Boletus, I think. Small penny-bun brown cap. Pores vary widely in size, from .2mm to 2mm. White hymenium, with light brown stains and red patches. Found in grass near Douglas-fir, Bigleaf maple, Black cottonwood.


In situ. In grass, near Bigleaf maple, Douglas-fir, Black cottonwood.
Base of stipe with whitish mycelium, brick-red, hard. Breaks cleanly.
Pores .2mm to 2mm, white, yellow-brown, red-brown.
Cap flesh white
