Notes: Found in mixed forest.

Maybe related to the only Suillus found there, which was S. pungens.

Recognized by sight: Can look macroscopically identical to C. vinicolor and C. rutilus (which doesn’t appear to occur in the US). However, based on Noah’s observations, the occurrence with Suillus pungens lends support to this being C. vinicolor.

Recognized by sight: Red-brown to orange to ocher color, growing with pine, decurrent gills. Microscopy needed to assign to species.
