Growing on ground, solitary, in dense mixed hardwoods and pines. There was both pine and hardwood leaf litter. When I pulled back the leaf litter I could see the stalk being attached to extensive white underground material. There was no vulva at base. The base of the stem slightly bulbous.
Spore print was pale ivory white.
The top of the stem was hollow and broke off when I dug up the mushroom. I could partially separate the cap cover from the flesh but both would break up. The outside of the mushroom was not sticky.
When I broke the cap, there was no fluid running out.
It had a mild mushroomy smell.
