Notes: Growing on downed hardwood under mixed hardwoods and pine.
Grows on a thick stalk out of the wood, not as a shelf. The stalk is 2-3 inches (5-8 cm) thick. The plate or cap is 7-8 inches (17-20cm) across.
The first photo shows the stalk. The 2nd and 3rd photos show the pore surface underneath. The surfaces were soft, slightly pliable but not bendable.
